According to TMZ SportsJohnny Wilkes, a man who claims to be close to Kawhi Leonard, has filed a lawsuit against Jerry West and the Clippers, alleging that West owes him $2.5 million for “helping the Clippers sign Kawhi”.

The NBA has launched an investigation on the Clippers after these allegations.

The Clippers star responded to the allegations made by Wilkes by saying he played no role in his decision to join the Los Angeles organization.

"Not at all. That had nothing to do with me," Leonard told the media members. "I'm from LA...people will try to find any way to get money...won't be the last."

Wilkes was a Dorsey High School teammate of Kawhi's uncle Dennis Robertson before playing at Colorado and Cal State Fullerton.

The Clippers organization released a statement saying that they are fully cooperating with the league and clarified that the allegations made by Wilkes are “replete with inaccuracies.”

“The lawsuit filed by Johnny Wilkes is replete with inaccuracies and the allegations are baseless. The Clippers are fully cooperating with the NBA in its investigation,” the organization said. "We are providing the NBA with evidence that the allegations are false.”
