Real Madrid and Chelsea faced off in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semifinal at Stanford Bridge in London with the score tied at one on aggregate with the home side having the advantage on away goals.

Sergio Ramos and Ferland Mendy made their return to the Real Madrid lineup after recovering from their respective injuries meaning Zinedine Zidane went back to a 4-3-3 when in the first leg he played with a 3-5-2.

Chelsea spent the first five minutes of the match doing a high press on the Real Madrid offense negating any scoring chance and not letting them pass into the offensive zone.

Timo Werner had Chelsea's first chance to score of the game when he stole a ball from Vinicius but Thibaut Courtois was there to make the easy save.

Real Madrid got its first shot on target in the 10th minute courtesy of Toni Kroos but Edouard Mendy made his first save of the match. A minute later Chelsea responded when Antonio Rudiger got their first shot on target but it was once again saved by Courtois.

Luka Modric got his first shot on target in the 17th minute but again Mendy made another save and on the ensuing play Werner thought he scored when he got a great shot past Courtois but the offside flag went up.

Benzema had his first chance of the game in the 25th minute but his shot would sail just wide. Two minutes later Chelsea would open the scoring when Timo Werner would head in a ball that went off the post and into the back of the net.

Benzema had another brilliant chance in the 35th minute when he put a header on net but Mendy once again came up with an even bigger save. Both teams went into the first half with the home side up 1-0 and 45 minutes to go to decide who would face Manchester City in the final.

A minute into the second half Chelsea almost doubled its lead again when Kai Havertz got a header on target but it would go off the post and out.

Chelsea kept pressing and in the 53rd minute Mason Mount had another great opportunity but the ball would once again sail over the net. Five minutes later Havertz found himself one on one with Courtois but the Belgian would make a great kick save.

In the 62nd minute, Real Madrid made two changes bringing in Fede Valverde and Marco Asensio for Ferland Mendy and Vinicius Jr. A minute later Eden Hazard got a great shot on target but Mendy made a big leg save.

On the ensuing play, Werner ran up the field and Ngolo Kante got a shot off but it was Courtois's turn to make another game-saving save. Christian Pulisic who had come in off the bench got his first shot on target in the 70th minute but it went right into the hands of Courtois.

In the 76 minute, Real Madrid made their third change when they brought in Rodrygo for Casemiro. Chelsea would add to their lead late in the game at the 85th minute when Pulisic gave a great pass to Mount who would put it into the back of the net.

The ref would blow the final whistle after four minutes off added time and Chelsea had booked their spot in the UEFA Champions League against Manchester City on May 29th in Istanbul.
