Top seed Rafael Nadal is into the finals of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell for a 12th time following a 6-3, 6-3 victory over sixth seed Pablo Carreno Busta.

The top seed was off the mark early, holding a break point in the second game of the match and converting after a backhand error from Carreno Busta to take a 2-0 lead.

Nadal managed to break a second time to extend his advantage to 5-1, but Carreno Busta fought back to break himself and hold to cut the deficit to 5-3, but given a second chance, the 11-time champion clsoed out the set as the sixth seed flew a forehand long.

An immediate break came the top seed's way as he blasted a forehand past an onrushing Carreno Busta that knocked him down. A second break soon followed and a subsequent hold made it 4-0 to Nadal.

Carreno Busta again hung tough and broke one more time, but Nadal served for the match at 5-3 and unlike the conclusion to the first set, he had a much simpler hold, a final backhand well out by the sixth seed on match point.
