Millwall and Norwich City shared the spoils for the second time this season in a 0-0 draw at The Den.

Story of the game

Norwich came out of the traps early on and forced an early corner after some questionable defending from Millwall captain Shaun Hutchinson.

The Lions responded and created a couple of decent opportunities. Ken Zohore twice went close, forcing Tim Krul into action. Jed Wallace was then denied a clear shot on goal after a superb block from Grant Hanley.

Ryan Leonard attempted a volley from outside the box from a Scott Malone corner that was not too far over. Malone himself then saw an effort saved low on his right by Krul.

The visitors had the first real chance of the second half, a decent counter attack ended with Mario Vrancic shooting wide.

On the hour mark, Malone's cross was headed over by Zohore, Norwich responded with Todd Cantwell scooping an effort over.

Malone then missed two chances, firstly, slicing one past the far post before beating a Norwich defender and sending his effort over the bar.

Takeaways

Norwich feel the loss of Buendia.

Emi Buendia missed the game due to suspension and will also miss Saturday's game. It is clear to see why Arsenal were interested in his services. Norwich missed his ability to put a defence splitting pass through. Teemu Pukki was out through but the quality of the ball was not sufficient enough to stop the Millwall defence from being able to clear it. There was further evidence of this is the second half. City really forced to shoot from distance as Millwall stood very strong in defence and made life tough for their visitors to break them down.

Rowett names an unchanged team again

It was the third game in succession that Gary Rowett opted to name the same side. Rowett changed the formation in the victory at Huddersfield Town and had stuck with 3-5-2 since then with Jed Wallace playing as a second striker alongside Zohore. Ryan Leonard has also moved from midfield to be part of the back three alongside Hutchinson and Jake Cooper. A move that was worked well. Although, the arrival of George Evans on deadline day may see Leonard move back into midfield.

Impressive performance from Zohore

Injury has hampered Ken Zohore's loan spell at Millwall but he is now beginning to show why Gary Rowett worked so hard to bring him to SE16. He had the beating on Hanley in the air as well as on foot particularly in the first half.

Team news

Gary Rowett named an unchanged side for the third league game in a row. The only change in the match day squad was the inclusion of Shane Ferguson, he replaced Troy Parrott on the bench, who's loan spell with the club came to an end on Deadline Day.

Norwich made one change to their side with Przemysław Płacheta coming in to replace Emi Buendia, who served the first of a two match suspension.
