Morecambe welcome Scunthorpe United to Lancashire tomorrow evening, as the hosts look to cement a play-off position with just six games remaining.

Derek Adams' side fell to a 1-0 away defeat at Port Vale on Saturday leaving the Shrimps currently occupying fifth position in the table.

As for the Iron, they endured a goalless draw with Tranmere Rovers at the Sands Venue Stadium as they look to ensure their Football League status for another year.

Team news

Scunthorpe boss Neil Cox has hinted that Kevin van Veen will partner John McAtee on Tuesday evening with the pair coming through unscathed from Saturday's 0-0 home draw.

Devarn Green will return to the squad following a thigh strain that ruled him out of the weekends stalemate.

Olufela Olomola picked up a knee injury and will not travel as a precaution and it is likely Rory Watson will continue in goal following Mark Howard's absence.

As for the hosts, striker Jordan Slew will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a fracture to his fibula.

Morecambe manager Adams could look to freshen up the side with Toumani Diagouraga aiming to make his way back into the starting eleven.

Cole Stockton is likely to continue to lead the line as he looks to add to his tally of ten this campaign.

Ones to watch

Alfie Beestin - Scunthorpe United

23-year-old Alfie Beestin has been a main stay in this Scunthorpe United side as of late and remains a key part of Manager Neil Cox's plans moving forward. Already rewarded with a new contract with the North Lincolnshire based side, the ex-Doncaster Rovers man is crucial to the Iron's attacking thrust and came the closest to opening the scoring against Tranmere Rovers on Saturday afternoon.

Carlos Mendes Gomes - Morecambe

Carlos Mendes Gomes has been a starlet for this play-off chasing Morecambe side this season, popping up with 12 goals and three assists following his arrival in May 2018. With rumours already beginning to circulate about his future amid interest elsewhere and at only 22 years of age, the former Atletico Madrid youngster will no doubt look to ignite the game with his terrific trickery and deadly right foot.

Previous meetings

It was to be a 1-1 draw between the two sides in this seasons previous meeting. Aaron Wildig netted a last gasp equaliser to salvage a point for the Shrimps in the final minute of stoppage time.

How to watch

Kick-off is at 18:30 BST on Tuesday April 13 and is available on both clubs' iFollow streaming services for a fee of £10.
