Newcastle United host West Ham United at St James Park on Saturday afternoon, as the Hammers look to move up to third in the Premier League.

Most recently, West Ham nearly lost a 3-0 lead once again when they hosted Leicester City at the London Stadium

Jesse Lingard opened the scoring with a fantastic half-volley into the bottom corner.

Jarrod Bowen then squared the ball past Kasper Schmeichel for Lingard to get his second of the game. 

Minutes into the second half, Bowen smashed the ball into the back of the net to give his side a 3-0 lead. 

However, a brace from Kelechi Iheanacho nearly cost West Ham three vital points. 

Most recently in the Premier League, Newcastle came back from 1-0 down to beat Burnley 2-1 at Turf Moor. 

Allan Saint-Maximin scored and assisted inside six minutes of coming off the bench to earn his side a very big win.

Team News

Newcastle United

The Magpies will be without Jamaal Lascelles once again.

Ryan Fraser and Andy Carroll are both expected to be absent for the lunchtime clash.

Long term absentees Isaac Hayden and Fabian Schar will both miss the game through knee injuries.

West Ham United

Angelo Ogbonna and Andriy Yarmolenko both could make a return to the match day squad following two leg injuries. 

Declan Rice will be missed again through a knee injury, and is expected back in May. 

Michail Antonio is also a doubt with a hamstring injury. 

Substituted against Leicester, Aaron Cresswell is also a doubt.

Ones to Watch

Newcastle - Allan Saint-Maximin

The Frenchman has been involved in five goals in his last six games. The winger made a huge impact against Burnley, scoring and assisting inside six minutes of coming on from the bench.

West Ham United - Jesse Lingard 

The midfielder is one of the most inform players at the moment, in the Premier League, following his explosive start to life at West Ham. The attacking midfielder is at the centre of the Hammers' attack, driving West Ham forward superbly. 

The 28-year old was brilliant in all of his games so far for the East London side, being the standout player on the pitch. Settling in very quickly, Lingard has eight goals and four assists in nine games, pushing the Hammers towards the UEFA Champions League places.
