Having sacked Keith Hill last week, Ian Dawes takes interim charge for the second time this season and has been set the task of overcoming an inform, high-scoring Morecambe side to book the Super Whites' place in the Play-Off final.

Tranmere come into the game without a win in their previous three league games while the visitors have won five of their last six in the league.

The big question mark over Derek Adams' is  whether they can do it on the big stage. In what was dubbed a winner takes all game against Bolton at Mazuma stadium, the Shrimps found themselves down to 10 men after 20 minutes and ended up losing the crunch match.

Both of the games between Rovers and Morecambe were tight affairs and on both occasions, the away side ran out 1-0 winners.

  • Team News

The day Tranmere fans have been waiting for has seemingly arrived at just the right time as their top scorer, James Vaughan, looks to return to the starting line-up in front of the Rovers faithful.

During his first stint in charge, Ian Dawes favoured a centre-back pairing of Peter Clarke and Emmanuel Monthe so that could well be the partnership we see on display this evening.

Morecambe are without Kelvin Mellor for tonight's game, with the midfielder serving the third and last game of his suspension having been sent off against Bolton.

  • Expected line-ups

Tranmere: Murphy; O'Connor, Clarke, Monthe, MacDonald; Lewis, Spearing, Morris; Feeney; Vaughan, Woolery

Morecambe: Letheren; Cooney, Knight-Percival, Lavelle, Gibson; Songo'o, Diagouraga; McAlinden, Wildig, Gomes; Stockton
