Tottenham Hotspur have made official that 17 year-old Alfie Devine has signed his first professional contract with the Club, which will run until 2024.

Devine, who  joined the Spurs  Academy from Wigan in the summer of 2020, made his first team debut in Tottenham's FA Cup win over Marine in January 2021. 

During that game, Devine came off the bench to become the Club’s youngest-ever player and goalscorer.

Development

The 17 year-old is expected to be one of the youngsters, along with Dane Scarlett, who get the most amount of first team football this coming season.

The fact that the 'Lilywhites' will take part of the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League, will grant opportunities to young players with the first team, such as Devine. 

The Athletic UK reported Devine could potentially could head out on loan in the spring to gain first team experience, which talks about how important is his development for Tottenham Hotspur

Numbers

Devine recorded five goals and one assist while playing above his age group in the Spurs academy, which shows the talent he's got.

At only 16 years of age, he made 24 appearances with the academy last season, including multiple starts in the Premier League 2 with the u23.
