Tottenham Hotspur may have added Serie A's defender of the year Cristian Romero to the squad this summer, but managing director Fabio Paratici is still interested in bringing another defender.

The Argentinian International will be a guaranteed starter for Nuno Espírito Santo once fit and available, but it remains to be seen who will partner up with him in the back-line.

The Athletic UK reported Tottenham are planning to make two more signings this window, with one of them being a right back or centre back.

Milenkovic interest

Sky Sports' stated Tottenham are in talks to sign Fiorentina's defender, Nikola Milenkovic.

The 23 year-old from Serbia was involved in a proposed move to West Ham but talks have broken down, and Spurs are now interested in acquiring him.

West Ham were unable to agree a deal for the Fiorentina defender and discussions have ended for now.

Milenkovic, who has just one year left on his Fiorentina contract, is worth 25.00 mill. € according to Transfermarkt

Stats

The defender has played 133 games across all competitions for Fiorentina since being acquired from Partizan in 2017. He has also recorded 11 goals and one assist in over 11,000 minutes played.

The fact that Milonkevic can play right-back and centre-back is what caught Paratici's attention, and will do everything possible to try and sign him before the summer transfer window ends.

Premier League side, Wolverhampton Wanderers have also inquired Fiorentina about the Serbian player but most likely it will be too expensive for them.

Spurs are also interested in Bologna's defender Takehiro Tomiyasu but have not yet been able to agree a deal.

Tomiyasu is estimated to be worth 20.00 mill. € following his great performances during the Tokyo 2020 summer Olympic Games.
