The new season is underway for Tottenham Hotspur, and following a great 1-0 win over Manchester City at North London in their Premier League opener, the mood is complete happiness for the 'Lilywhites'.

The atmosphere in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was outstanding, and the team led by Nuno Espírito Santo put on a performance for the ages.

The Portuguese manager addressed the media following the game, where he detailed his though process coming into the opening fixture, Harry Kane rumors, starting Japhet Tanganga and Oliver Skipp, as well as other topics.

"I think (Japhet and Oliver) did well," Nuno said. "When we started the season they were in the process of recovering from injury but they worked hard on their fitness with their sports science. All the team was great today but Japhet was huge. He faced so many one on ones."

Tanganga got the starting knot over Matt Doherty, and put on a great display. The 22 year-old was voted Man Of The Match by the Spurs supporters in just his 14th Premier League start ever.

Tanganga won 11 duels,  two clearances, gained possession five times, and completed 18 out of the 20 passes he made.

"There is no perfection and probably we will never achieve it, but I'm very proud of the boys," Espírito Santo added.

Following his return to full training this past week, Nuno also spoke about Kane's current status and why he was not selected to play in this game.

"Harry (Kane), like Bryan (Gil), Cristian Romero, they join us later so we thought for Cristian and Bryan it was very important to be here today in the stadium to feel the atmosphere and the process of being in the hotel and with the squad."

The Argentinian International, Romero did get to make his Spurs debut with just five minutes to be played.

The Spurs fans even sang "Are you watching, Harry Kane?" as the game reached its conclusion.
