After dropping three consecutive games by a total of nine goals, Nuno Espírito Santo's men are finally back to winning ways in the Premier League.

Tottenham defeated Aston Villa at North London thanks to a great performance by the South Korean star Heung-Min Son, who has now recorded six goals and five assists over the last 12 Premier League games at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Man of the match

'Sonny' played a big role in the Spurs game, especially for being a threat on the left side as well as registering both Spurs assists, which would end up being the difference maker.

On the other hand, the defensive aspect is something that the Portuguese manager has focused on since his arrival at the Club. Notable performances by Cristian 'Cuti' Romero, Emerson Royal and Oliver Skipp, who by recovering balls and blocking shots, gave a different type of energy to the squad.

The Brazilian right-back, Emerson had an impressive performance in front of his home fans and seems to be proving his worth. Royal registered 86 touches, four interceptions, nine duels won and two successful tackles.

Spurs went with a 1-0 advantage into half-time following Pierre-Emile Hojberg's goal. Despite conceding an equalizer in the beginning of the second half, Tottenham immediately re-took the lead thanks to an own goal by Matt Targett following a great delivery by Son.

The South Korean has now contributed in all four goals Spurs have scored at home in the Premier League this season.

Momentum

Nuno Espírito Santo and his team will go into the international break with a shift in momentum, and perhaps it is just a matter of time until the Portuguese manager takes Spurs where they want to be.

Currently, Tottenham are eight in the league table with 12 points, and will face Newcastle United at St. James Park once players return from international duty.
