Cristian Romero's arrival at Tottenham Hotspur this past summer seems to be fixing one of the Spurs biggest issues in recent years, as he's started to show his quality in the back-line.

Romero joined Spurs after being named Serie A’s Defender of the Season with Atalanta and winning the Copa America with Argentina. It may have taken him a little while to settle at North London, but he finally seems to be in top form.

Eric Dier, who has played alongside Romero multiple times in the Premier League this season, revealed the importance of the Argentinian, and how good he's been since arriving during pre-season.

“Cristian looks good, I think he’s going to be a fantastic player for the club,” Dier told tottenhamhotspur.com “I love the way he plays. It’s enjoyable to watch and he’s enjoyable to play with.

He’s very aggressive, very much on the front foot and very clever as well, the way he uses his body, the way he reads the game. He’s sharp, and so quick to execute. He’s very sneaky in taking the ball away and using different angles.”

Romero was one of Tottenham's seven summer signings, along with Pierluigi Gollini, Bryan Gil, Emerson Royal and Pape Matar Sarr, who rejoined Metz on loan.

Dier also spoke about how Romero adapted into the team, and the importance of having another Argentinian in the squad.

“Cristian has settled in really well,” he added. “He has Gio (Lo Celso) here as well, which helps. It’s an easy group to settle into, he’s settled in well, a really good guy.”

Romero has also showed his quality while playing with the national team during the September and October international break's respectively. Still only 23 years young but there's no doubt Romero will lead the Tottenham back-line for many years to come.
