West Bromwich Albion will be hoping they can prevent a fifth away defeat of the season with victory against Coventry City at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

Coventry will also be aiming for three points to retain their position in the play-offs as they look to continue a sparkling EFL Championship underdog story.

Albion club captain Jake Livermore will serve the final game of his suspension after being sent off in the defeat to Huddersfield Town.

On-loan Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Jayson Molumby will also be suspended after picking up a second yellow card in the stalemate against Nottingham Forest.

Matt Phillips also misses out with a slight hamstring issue that needs to be assessed according to Valerien Ismael.

Coventry striker Martyn Waghorn has been ruled out for several weeks with a shoulder and it's likely the forward will miss this one too.

On-loan Chelsea defender Jay Clarke-Salter has returned to his parent club to receive treatment for an achilles injury that's kept him out of their past three fixtures.

The Sky Blues camp has also been hit with a cold virus, with boss Mark Robins to assess the team's fitness before selecting his team to face Albion.

Following a goalless draw against Forest, and QPR's victory against Derby County the following Monday, Albion have fallen to fourth in the Championship table.

Calls for manager Valerien Ismael's sacking are growing louder, and defeat to Coventry could see tensions spillover among the Hawthorns faithful.

The Baggies simply have to improve their performances to avoid slipping down the table any further.

Coventry haven't beaten West Brom since 2007 and Robins will be hoping to see his side can take the momentum from their late comeback against Bournemouth.

However, Cov will need to get their game plan spot on to topple the Baggies in this one, as they haven't picked up a victory in their last three Championship games.

  • Ones to watch

Adam Reach

Adam Reach will have a huge job on his hands if he steps into the Baggies midfield two for this one.

In a 3-4-3 formation that requires a midfielder to have an ultimate skillset, and with Reach not playing there yet under Ismael, it's a big ask for the former Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough man.

Ian Maatsen

On loan from Chelsea, Ian Maatsen has proved a welcomed addition to Robins' ranks for the Sky Blues.

The Dutch under-21 international provides width and flair down the left hand side, as Coventry use their wing-backs to effect.

A recall option could be on the cards for Chelsea, however, with Ben Chilwell currently ruled out through injury.
