The hosts created their first chance as Lee Molyneux fizzed a low shot from the edge of the penalty area that came back off of the post.

Just past the quarter hour mark, Will Randall swung in a cross from the left that eluded Omar Bugiel and David Ajiboye.

The Yellow Army could have doubled the lead as Ajiboye seized on a loose pass and set up Donovan Wilson, whose touch allowed him to be crowded out as he tried to shoot.

Bryn Morris shot wide from the edge of the penalty area in a first half of little chances for Pools, but in the second, they were much the stronger side.
