Brighton & Hove Albion saw their losing streak come to an end, but could only manage a draw against bottom club Norwich City as the two sides played out a 0-0 draw at the American Express Community Stadium.

The Seagulls registered 31 shots, tying for the most in a Premier League match this season, but a miss from the penalty spot by Neal Maupay proved costly.

Norwich sit seven points from safety as they remain rooted to the bottom of the table and have played three more games than fourth from bottom Everton.

Story of the match

Brighton were on the front foot and nearly found the back of the net in the 19th minute as a back heel by Leandro Trossard found Solly March, but Maupay made a mess of his shot after a cross played to him.

Alexis Mac Allister had Norwich goalkeeper Tim Krul scrambling across his goal with a drive from 20 yards.

Just shy of the half-hour mark, the Seagulls were awarded a penalty after Sam Byram handled the ball, but Maupay sent his spot kick well over.

Mac Allister came close again as March played a free kick on the right to the edge of the box, but the Argentine curled just wide of the post.

Nine minutes into the second half, Krul made a stunning save as Lewis Dunk flicked on March's corner and the Canaries netminder reacted beautifully to deny a close-range header from Joel Veltman.

Maupay was given a chance to atone for his penalty miss as Trossard found the Frenchman in space, but he was a yard wide as the frustration in front of goal continued for the hosts.

With ten minutes left on the clock, the visitors, who barely posed a threat, had their best chance of the match as Teemu Puuki found Milot Rashica, but the Kosovar lifted over the bar.

In the final minute, Krul punched out Mac Allister's powerful effort, summing up how things went for Brighton on the day.

Man of the match: Grant Hanley

Was a rock in the Norwich defense, registering 13 clearances and three blocked shots in front of Krul.
