League leaders Fulham will be hoping they can take one step closer to an immediate return to the Premier League when Coventry arrive in West London on Sunday.

Marco Silva's Fulham have been nothing short of sensational this season, currently sitting top of the Championship, with an 11-point gap to Bournemouth in second.

Championship top scorer Aleksandar Mitrovic will be looking to pile the misery on a Coventry side that have won just one of their last eight games, as he looks to break the 40-goal mark on Sunday.

The Serbian international had broken Ivan Toney's 31-goal record in February but has not showed sign of a slowing since, netting a total of 38 times over the course of this season.

  • Team news

Silva has confirmed that both captain Tom Cairney and Liverpool loanee Neco Williams will be available for selection, but told the official club account that he "will assess the situation."

As for Sky Blues manager Mark Robins, he has fresh injury concerns to contend with after telling Coventry's official club website that striker Matty Godden would miss the rest of the season with a calf tear.

Although, Robins did confirm that defender Kyle McFadzean is likely to return before the end of the season.

McFadzean has been missing for City since being forced off in the 4-1 win over Sheffield United, but Robins expects him to return before the end of the campaign.

As for long-term absentees Liam Kelly and Josh Eccles, Robins confirmed that Eccles' return has been halted due to the academy graduate testing positive for Covid and that Kelly's comeback is essentially a waiting game, as he has been out since the Christmas period.

  • Predicted lineups

Fulham: Rodak (GK), Williams, Adarabioyo, Ream, Bryan, Reed, Cairney, Wilson, Carvalho, Reid, Mitrovic

Coventry City: Moore (GK), Dabo, Rose, Hyam, Bidwell, Maatsen, Sheaf, Hamer, O'Hare, Allen, Gyokeres

  • Ones to watch

Attacking midfielder Fabio Carvalho is Fulham's man to watch at the moment.

Seven goals and seven assists in the Championship have garnered their fair share of attention, not least from Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

On Thursday, The Guardian broke the news that the Reds have finalised a £5 million deal to finally bring the 19-year-old to Merseyside, after Klopp missed out on his man on the January deadline day.

As for Coventry, their one to watch is Swedish international Viktor Gyokeres.

The forward netted a brace in the reverse fixture at the Coventry Building Society Arena, as the Sky Blues breezed to a 4-1 win.

Whilst the two sides' fortunes have drastically changed since, Gyokeres is still the Sky Blues top scorer this season, notching a goal tally of 15 in all competitions.

His physical presence and ability to carry the ball could prove difficult for the league leaders' defence to deal with and if Coventry are to have any luck at Craven Cottage, Gyokeres is likely to be a key part in it.

  • Past meetings

These two sides have met 38 times previously, with Fulham generally coming out on top.

The West London outfit have won 16 of their past encounters, with City taking the points 13 times and spoils being shared on nine occasions.

Their most recent meeting was a major upset, as Coventry ran out 4-1 victors at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

Fulham went ahead in the first half through a McFadzean own goal, but two goals from Gyokeres, as well as one each for Godden and Ian Maatsen turned the game on its head in favour of the Sky Blues.

  • Where to watch

The game has been selected for live broadcast on Sky Sports in the UK.

Fans will also be able to watch the game live on iFollow, or listen to live audio commentary via FFCtv.
