Manchester City welcome Liverpool to the Ethiad Stadium for a box office clash that has the potential to decide who is crowned Champions come the end of this Premier League campaign

Injury Update

If Ruben Dias’ injury wasn’t enough of a boost for the Reds already, Klopp confirmed he has a full squad available to him ahead of his side’s box office clash with the Premier League Champions on Sunday.

He said: "The last time I looked on my smartphone, everyone was fine."

There was concern circulating around Fabinho after the Brazilian suffered a head injury at the end of Liverpool’s game with Benfica on Tuesday. With all concussion protocols followed, Fabinho is available for the crunch trip to the Ethiad Stadium.

Klopp and Guardiola

Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola share a fierce but a mutually respected rivalry as the two managers have built teams that have battled to the end in recent years at the summit of the Premier League table, and other competitions.

Klopp holds his rival in high regard ahead of their upcoming meeting.

Klopp said: "Pep is the best coach in the world and we all would agree on that. If anybody doubts him, I have no idea how that could happen.

"The things he won, the football he played - we all think a lot and that is the reason why sometimes we make mistakes and sometimes we find the right things to do. It makes us more independent."

Expectations for Sunday

The Liverpool manager anticipates an interesting match against England’s top two sides on Sunday as he expects both teams to go all out to be at top spot come Sunday night.

He said: "I'm expecting a good game. I know very often that doesn't happen. But it should be an interesting watch because both teams really go for it.

"Our history with City shows that it's been an interesting watch. Both teams want to create chances and use momentum and gaps in situations - I expect an interesting football game."

The best rivalry in Premier League history?

The two sides have stolen the show and made headlines frequently since their managers’ arrivals for their quality, consistency and the value that rides on their clashes.

It is a well debated topic whether Liverpool and Manchester City is the biggest rivalry in the history of the Premier League and it’s hard to disagree.

Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal and Alex Ferguson’s Man United also come to mind, with the two sides demonstrating a fearsome rivalry after the turn of the century.

Klopp was asked his views on this ahead of Sunday’s matchup.

Klopp said: "It's cool. We could close the gap to City in the last few years. We push each other to incredible point totals. It's madness. We know it's tough.

"What has changed in the last four years is that everybody else thinks it's tough when they face us, and that is good."
