• Team News

Solihull Moors have another full, injury free side for their trip to the South of England. Lois Maynard returned to the starting eleven during their previous match against Aldershot Town and is expected to retain his place.

Predicted Line-Up: Boot (GK) ; Clarke, Howe, Maynard, Boyes ; Maycock, Osborne ; Barnett, Sbarra, Dallas, Newton (4-2-3-1)

As for Weymouth, they will be looking to bounce back after a heavy defeat against Wrexham which confirmed their relegation to the National League South.

Predicted Line-Up: Fitzsimons (GK) ; Mnoga, Morgan, Drewe, Greenwood ; Buse, Robinson ; McQuoid, Ash, Blair ; Bearwish (4-2-3-1)

  • Form Guide

Solihull Moors have lost just once in their last eighteen matches in the National League which was a narrow defeat to the league leaders Stockport County. Solihull bounced back with victory last weekend against Aldershot Town and will be desperate to make Saturday’s trip to Weymouth another win.

Weymouth FC on the other hand are in poor form, and are currently without a win in their last twelve matches in the league, in fact their last league win was against Eastleigh in Mid-February. It gets worse when you realise that they’ve won once in the division since October 2021.

  •  Head To Head Record

Solihull Moors & Weymouth have met just three times in all competitions. Weymouth have won once which was their last league meeting (more on that shortly), there’s been one draw and Solihull Moors won the other match at the back end of last season.

  • Previous League Meeting

The last time these two sides met was back in September 2021 in a seven goal thriller at the ARMCO Arena, ending in Weymouth’s favour.

Weymouth took the lead after eight minutes through Josh Leslie-Smith and then doubled their lead just thirteen minutes later via Bradley Ash. Solihull pulled one back before half time through midfielder Joe Sbarra before Bradley Ash doubled his tally for the afternoon and restored Weymouth’s two goal cushion. Just after half time, Josh McQuoid got in on the action to give the visitors a four one lead and they looked in cruise control. Joe Sbarra added his second goal of the afternoon to cut the deficit and deep into added time, Andrew Dallas pulled another back but it was too little too late.

Defeat saw Solihull Moors drop down to eighteenth after three league games whilst Weymouth climbed up to twelfth in the table but had played a game more.

  • Player To Watch - Weymouth FC

My player to watch for Weymouth is their front man Tom Bearwish who has scored twice in two matches for the relegated side and has three league goals this season.

Bearwish has really stepped up in the last few weeks for Weymouth especially as the goals for Josh McQuoid have dried up in recent weeks. He can cause Solihull issues with his physical and eye for goal and will be keen to keep that going.

Weymouth have nothing to play for, so we could see a much more attacking performance from them considering they have no pressure and they can play free flowing football, without risk.

  • Player To Watch - Solihull Moors

My player to watch for Solihull Moors is their playmaker Joe Sbarra for sure after his brace in the previous meeting as well as having sixteen goals for the club this season.

Sbarra is your modern day attacking midfielder, he causes opposition defences problems all match and doesn’t give them a minutes rest. He’s also quick so on a counter attack, he will cause Weymouth a lot of problems.

Solihull Moors will be looking for their key players to step up on Saturday as they try and break into the top three of the National League in order to avoid more games in the play offs.
