Sevilla set up a Copa del Rey quarter-final with Espanyol after a comfortable 4-0 victory that saw them beat Granada 6-1 on aggregate.

Sevilla dominated the early stages and could have took the lead on six minutes when Granada failed to deal with a corner and Kevin Gameiro was able to pick out Iago Aspas in the penalty area but he snatched at the shot and it went wide. Sevilla did take the lead on eighteen minutes when Grzegorz Krychowiak won possession on the left and passed to Fernando Navarro who took a touch before putting a lovely ball between the defence and goalkeeper and Gameiro was alert to it and sidefooted past Roberto in the Granada goal.

It should have been 2-0 five minutes later when Gerard Deulofeu beat the left back before drilling across the face of the goal. Denis Suarez met the ball with his head but hit the outside of the post with the goal at his mercy.

Unai Emery's side did make it 2-0 on twenty-eight minutes when Aspas met Deulofeu's driven costless kick with a header that looped over Roberto to put Sevilla 4-1 up on aggregate.Sevilla's dominance continued for the rest of the half but they were unable to inflict anymore damage on their Andalusian rivals and the score remained at 2-0 until half time.

Sevilla's dominance continued after the break and they got their third on fifty-five minutes and it was Gameiro again. The French man received the ball on the left from a throw in before beating a defender and unleashing a right footed strike. It was a powerful shot but it was straight at Roberto and the goalkeeper should have saved it but it seemed to go straight through him and into the roof of the net.

Sevilla weren't done yet and got their fourth on sixty-four minutes with a fine counter attacking goal. Gameiro picked up the ball on the right and despite being crowded out he managed to get the pass to Suarez with some quick footwork and Suarez took a touch before slotting the ball into the bottom corner of the Granada net.

It could have been five on seventy-four minutes after another Sevilla break but Deulofeu's through ball was just too heavy for substitute, Carlos Bacca and Roberto got out to smother it. Granada almost got a superb consolation when after a rare spell of possession for the away side Artuno unleashed a vicious left footed shot but it went just wide of Sergio Rico's goal.

Bacca could have made it five minutes later when he ran onto a fine through ball but the keeper got out well to narrow the angle and kept the score at 4-0.There was time for one more Sevilla chance when the excellent Deulofeu put a cross in which was met at the near post by Coke but Roberto done well to keep it out.The whistle blew minutes later to confirm Sevilla's victory and passage into the last eight but in truth the tie was over a long time before the final whistle.

Sevilla will believe they have a good chance of making the Final now. They will be favourites to beat Espanyol in the quarter-final which would see them into a semi-final against Athletic Bilbao or Malaga. With Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona on the other side of the draw there is a place up for grabs in the Final and on current form Sevilla have every chance of getting there.
