Napoli and Roma are set to go head to head for Carpi forward Jerry Mbakogu's signature this summer, but are not the only teams interested in the former Palermo youth player.

Il Mattino have reported Napoli "could make a concrete move for him in the summer", while Roma are reported to be weighing up a move for 22 year old.

Last season Mbakogu netted 15 goals in 30 appearances as the Biancorossi finished champions of Serie B, nine points clear of second placed Frosinone.

The youngster gained many deserved plaudits for his goal scoring exploits last season and it is believed that Napoli and Roma aren't the only clubs targeting Mbakogu.

In an interview with Sky Italia, the player's agent Andrea D'Amico admitted "There are many teams in about him." Furthermore, he was full of praise for his client, saying, "Jerry has all the qualities to make a great career."

Mbakogu signed permanently for Carpi on a five-year deal last summer following a successful loan spell that season. Prior to Carpi he was property of Padova and also had a three-year loan at Juve Stabia where he scored 13 goals.
