Josh Kelly is raring to go and 'can't wait' to get in the ring to face David Avanesyan on February 20th live on Sky Sports

The unbeaten Welterweight from Sunderland boasts a 10-0 record, with six knockouts and one draw to his name. His opponent is the more seasoned, experienced fighter as the Russian, David Avanesyan, has a record of 26-3-1 with 14 knockouts on his fighting record.

This fight has been a long time in the making, with the original bout scheduled to take place in March of last year, but the date and bout is now confirmed as they face off for the EBU European Welterweight title.

Speaking to SAFC TV, he spoke about the upcoming fight and claimed he's been hard at work in the gym and can't wait to get in the ring with the Russian.

"I've been training so hard and so long for this now, its just a matter of time before I get what I know is coming and get what I know I deserve.

"I've put hours and hours and hours of work in and sacrificing and I just know that it's been written and I just need to go and collect that European Title"

With great backing from Matchroom Boxing and promoter, Eddie Hearn, Kelly has a large fan base and great backing from the United Kingdom to go far in his career.

A victory in this fight is sure to propel him into bigger fights, bigger opportunities and potentially a mega all-British clash with Conor Benn.

But Kelly sees a win here leading to big and better things and opportunities like never before.

"This is the one where when I win, I'll move on and it will open up everything for me this year.

"I'm stronger than ever, I'm leaner than ever and fitter than ever, I'm in the best place in my mind that I've ever been"

Josh Kelly vs David Avanesyan will take place live on Sky Sports on February 20th.
